Breathe Freely — Constitutional Homeopathy for Chronic Respiratory Disease

Inhalers manage asthma attacks. Antihistamines quiet allergic rhinitis temporarily. But the underlying sensitivity of the respiratory tract — the reason the lungs react to dust, cold air, or stress — remains untouched by conventional treatment. Constitutional homeopathy targets exactly this sensitivity. Not the attack. The susceptibility that makes attacks possible.

Asthma — Why the Inhaler Is Not the Complete Answer

Asthma affects millions of Indians — particularly children, and particularly in urban environments with high pollution, dust and allergen exposure. The standard treatment approach — salbutamol reliever inhalers for acute attacks, inhaled corticosteroid preventers for daily control — is safe, effective and life-saving in acute situations. We fully support its use.

However, this approach has a fundamental limitation: it controls the airway inflammation at the moment of the attack, but does not reduce the bronchial hypersensitivity that causes attacks to occur in the first place. The patient remains just as sensitive to dust, cold air or exercise-induced triggers after years of inhaler use as they were at the beginning — which is why asthma management is typically lifelong.

Constitutional homeopathic treatment works at a different level. The individually selected remedy — based on the full constitutional picture of the patient, including the specific triggers, the time of attacks, the type of breathlessness, the associated symptoms and the patient's overall constitution — gradually reduces the bronchial hypersensitivity itself. As this sensitivity decreases, the triggers lose their power to provoke attacks. Inhaler usage drops naturally — not because we told the patient to reduce it, but because attacks occur less often and with less severity.

This process takes time — typically 12 to 24 months for significant reduction in inhaler dependency. But the result is a genuinely less reactive respiratory system, not just a suppressed inflammatory response. And for children who begin treatment early, complete resolution of asthma is achieved in a meaningful proportion of cases.

Chronic Nasal Allergy and Sinusitis — Treated at the Root

Perennial allergic rhinitis — constant sneezing, blocked or runny nose, itchy eyes, post-nasal drip triggered by dust, animal dander or environmental allergens — is one of the most common chronic conditions we treat. Antihistamines provide daily symptomatic relief but must be taken continuously. The allergy itself does not reduce.

Constitutional homeopathic treatment for allergic rhinitis addresses the hyper-reactive immune response that is causing the allergy — rather than blocking the histamine that the immune system releases. Over a course of treatment, the immune response to allergens gradually becomes less intense, and many patients find that substances that previously triggered significant symptoms cause little or no reaction.

For chronic sinusitis — recurring or persistent inflammation of the sinus cavities, often with thick nasal discharge, facial pain and headache — constitutional treatment combined with appropriate dietary guidance (reducing foods that promote mucus production) produces consistent and often dramatic improvement.

What to Expect — Asthma Treatment Timeline

Month 6

Stage 1 of 3

Reliever inhaler use often begins reducing from daily to only occasional use.

Month 10

Stage 2 of 3

Some patients are able to stop a steroid preventer entirely, always under their chest physician's guidance.

Month 12-24

Stage 3 of 3

This is the window for significant, lasting reduction in inhaler dependency — a genuinely less reactive respiratory system, not just a suppressed inflammatory response. Children who begin treatment early sometimes achieve complete resolution within this period.

Never stop or reduce any inhaler without your chest physician's guidance. Results vary by individual.

A Patient’s Journey

“I had asthma since age 7 and was using a salbutamol inhaler daily and a steroid preventer twice daily by age 25. I started constitutional treatment with Dr Yadav. By month 6, my reliever inhaler use had reduced from daily to once or twice a week. By month 10, I had stopped the steroid preventer entirely under my chest physician's guidance. I still carry my reliever inhaler but I have not used it in 4 months. This is the first time in 18 years I have been genuinely free.”

— Rahul Sharma, 28, Jaipur — Chronic asthma since childhood, off daily inhalers at 10 months

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I stop my inhaler when I start homeopathy?

Never stop your inhaler without your doctor's guidance. Continue all prescribed inhalers — reliever and preventer — throughout homeopathic treatment. As constitutional treatment reduces your attack frequency, your need for the inhaler will reduce naturally. Any reduction is supervised by your chest physician.

My child has asthma and is on steroid inhalers. Is homeopathy safe alongside this?

Completely safe. Homeopathic medicines do not interact with inhaled steroids or salbutamol. Children with asthma often respond particularly well to constitutional treatment — many childhood asthma patients achieve significant or complete resolution of symptoms over 12 to 18 months.

I have nasal polyps. Can homeopathy avoid surgery?

In selected cases — particularly small polyps without severe obstruction — constitutional homeopathic treatment has produced documented reduction in polyp size and associated symptoms without surgical intervention. Large polyps causing significant airway obstruction may still require surgical management. We assess each case individually.

I have COPD. Can homeopathy reverse the lung damage?

No — existing structural lung damage from COPD cannot be reversed by any treatment, homeopathic or otherwise. What constitutional treatment can offer is supportive care: reducing the frequency of exacerbations, improving breathlessness and energy, and supporting overall respiratory function alongside your prescribed inhalers and any oxygen therapy.

My allergies are worse in a specific season. Does that affect treatment?

It's useful information, not an obstacle. The specific pattern of your allergic rhinitis — which season, which triggers, whether symptoms are worse indoors or outdoors — is part of the case-taking that helps us match the correct constitutional remedy.

Can respiratory conditions be treated through online consultation?

Yes. Online consultation works the same way as in-clinic, at the same price. This is especially convenient for ongoing asthma or allergy management, where most follow-ups are about reviewing symptom frequency rather than a physical examination.

How long before I need my inhaler or antihistamines less often?

Many patients notice reduced frequency of acute episodes within 2 to 3 months of consistent treatment, with more stable, sustained control typically by 6 months. Reduction in rescue-medication use is something we track together with you at each follow-up, rather than something you should judge alone.

Could my breathing get worse while we wait to see if homeopathy helps?

No — starting homeopathic treatment does not itself affect your breathing or lung function. Your inhalers and other prescribed respiratory medication continue exactly as before, so your baseline control is never put at risk while the constitutional treatment takes effect.
